April 22nd - Hotmail Sucks

So yesterday was another abysmal day and today looks like it is going to be even worse. I am signed up to over 30 services. Some of them are picking services some of them are just information services. I read all of these when I first get up and make my plays accordingly. However I get all of these sent to a special hotmail account to seperate them from any personal or website accounts I have. It appears though that hotmail are having some errors as since yesterday I have been told that my emails are under maintenance.

 

Anyway to cut a long story short I have not been able to make any plays today because of this so we will see how things go and  my picks should be back available on Sunday.

So yesterday was strange for me, I had absolutely no bets on I didn't know what to do with myself. When you have no bets on a sporting encounter you begin to realise just how boring some sports really are (not mentioning any names). It was probably a good job I had no bets on because I would have backed a Barcelona win and a Phillies win which in case you didn't know both lost! April 19th Free Picks - Giants, Liverpool and Pontefract

Crazy day of football yesterday Wigan beating Arsenal and everything. Then the Tampa @ Red Sox game came right down to the wire, obviously not in terms of winning but in terms of the Unders bet. We needed less than 8.5 and going into the bottom of the ninth it was 7-0 Tampa. Red Sox hit a Sac Fly to pull one back but it was all over from there and my baseball action is back in profit.

So yesterday was a good day, just the one bet falling through and to be honest it was a stupid pick to make anyway over 2.5 in a derby game. I was thinking because of the goal fest city have been on and the fact that neither defence is as good as the attack that there might have been goals galore but there wasn't. Tottenham came through as I thought they would so that was good. I don't think they'll topple United though when it comes round to it. Couple of baseball plays came in, just. Under 9 came in at 8 and over 9.5 came in at 10 how close do you want it!

So I am not betting today at all in preparation for tomorrow when I should have a fun filled morning, afternoon and evening full of bets. The world championship of snooker starts tomorrow so I thought while I am still in the UK I will watch that. 

 

Just a tip for everyone as well. Always check the lines on the baseball that Paddy Power is offering as I am fairly sure they are making regular mistakes regarding these. I was looking at all of their odds yesterday and Texas to win were 5/6 (~1.8-9) but with a handicap of +1.5 they were 27/20 (~2.35). Which was obviously supposed to be Texas -1.5 as offered by everyone else.

 

Anyway just a thing to check out for as its not the first occassion I have seen Paddy Power make a mistake with their +/- especially in US sports. I am assuming this is because they are an Irish bookmakers so don't put as much effort into the US side of the betting as they don't get as much demand!

Thoughts on Chelsea Match - 1 Horse Racing Lay Pick - 1 Baseball Pick

So after all that time waiting for the baseball season to start up again my first get dies a painful death! It looked like a sure-thing with 2 coming really quick in the first inning but the game failed to pick up from there and the Over 9 failed to come in with a 5-2 scoreline.

 

Ah well, we have to move on and play another day. Today I was looking at bets for the Chelsea Bolton game but decided to leave it because of the shocking odds being offered, even on Betfair. As I write this Chelsea are available to back at 1.15. This is probably an opportunity for some savvy people to make a lay here because this is too low in my opinion. I am not going to lay them because even though this is way too low (in my opinion) I still don't see Bolton getting anything from this game. A contradiction in terms I know!
