How Sports Arbitrage Betting Works

If on the other hand Derry City would have scored first then there would have been a profit of £244.16 (£432 x 2.88 = £1244.16 - £1000 = £244.16) Similarly if there had been no goal then we would have made profit of £240 (£124 x 10.00 = £1240 - £1001 = £240). Free Sports Tips

So our Champions League tips went ok, AC Milan won as expected. I'm still surprsied how high their odds were though. The Betfair Day Job Challenge Review - Scam?

Right, So the newest system breaking down my literal email door is the Betfair Day Job Challenge. Obviously it is far too early to jump to conclusions about this system but already it is steering away from some of the systems we have seen recently that were just overhyped scams. First off the Betfair Day Job Challenge gives you 5 years of backdated results to show its profitability. Based on the results you can tell that this system is a backing system that uses a progressive bankroll in order to boost profits, (meaning you use a % of your betting balance as opposed to flat stakes) With the Betfair Day Job Challenge as far as I can tell just from glancing quickly over the results sheet you will be betting 3% of your balance and will never go below odds of 4.00 with the majority of the odds for these horses being around the 4.75-5.50 mark, some of the odds are obviously higher I noticed a couple of high 7.xx when I was looking through the results. Sure Bettor Review - Scam?

So again we have another big system launch hitting the shelves. Normally I would buy this system and do a full review on it but this time I honestly cannot be bothered, and I'll show you why:

This was taken straight from the Sure Bettor website and is the main reason I am not going to buy. This system guarantees that you will make a profit on every bet. I can't see how that is true. Imagine profitting on every wager you made, its just a ludicrous statement. Because of that I am reluctant to spend the £47 reviewing something I am 90% sure is utter crap. Auto Betting Monster Review

So it's been a few days since I purchased the Auto Betting Monster System and Tipping Service. So far the tipping service is going pretty well and has had 6 winners in the past two days, coming in at 100/30, Evs, 10/1, 13/8, 4/1 and 7/2. This means if you had been following their system you would have won 6 bets so you would have added 5% to your bankroll 6 times over. If you had been flat betting then you would have won whatever profit level you wanted x6. The system and the software itself was rather disappointing, the selection process involved matching up newspaper tipsters and also involved betting upto 5 horses per race. The guide itself is 77 pages long but at least half of that is filler and there is double line spacing so there is probably actually around 20-30 pages of actual content. The software itself was very easy to install and use and is a very good betting calculator and worse versions are available online for much more so that is something good about it. The software tells you how much you need to be betting on each cycle in order to make a profit, if you fail to make a profit the cycle rolls over to the next and you will go into loss recovery mode (something I do not like to do) Overall I am not a great fan of the system itself but the tipping service is putting up some good winners, however I have to say that the calculator and the system as a whole is definitely not as good as is made out on the site and I do not like the way they advise to back upto 5 horses in a single race and then chase losses afterward. It is this reason that I cannot recommend this system. Why Betting Systems Are 50% The System and 50% You!

So I had an idea for a new betting strategy the other day that I was trying to turn into a system when I thought, what is the point in setting things in stone by assigning the tag 'system' to it. As soon as you call something a system there is no wiggle room. There is no 'well this still looks like a good bet' or 'there's no chance that horse is going to win it has one leg!'. If the horse/team/whatever fits the rules you are obliged to bet on it otherwise you are not giving the system a chance. A system that I myself advised that is running pretty hot at the moment advised a massive bet which I consider to be an anomaly because the two teams involved are too evenly matched for the predicted result to be considered a 'value bet'. You might think this is just my system showing its flaws but you will find these anamolous results in a number of systems in all sports. Just think of the last time you seen a selection come up in a system that you knew wasnt going to win, but it fit the rules for the system and the system had been running pretty good until this point. This is why I say that a system should never be 100% followed, there should be flexibility in the system. For example imagine you bought a system that predicted draws in football matches. The next game that the system throws up is Liverpool vs Newcastle. All well and good this might be a draw, but then you learn from Sky Sports News that several of the Newcastle players are out with food poisoning. Should you still make the bet? My point is this; a system has no way of knowing everything, a system cannot predict how a horse will fare in the weather conditions, it has no way of knowing what injuries have occurred making the result questionable. Systems are facts and figures and that is it. It relies on how past events have unfolded to predict what will happen in the future, it has no way of keeping up with other events like the weather and injuries. This is where you come in; you add the human factor to betting systems and the better you are at refining and adjusting betting systems the better punter you will be. So next time you buy a system do not blindly follow the selections it provides. Use the system as a general guide instead of a rigid rulebook. If a selection seems to be wrong because of X or Y then don't back it, if a selection that you feel is a great value bet is not within the parameters of the system then adjust it slightly (as long as you have good reason for your bet!) Also remember that systems don't last forever, if a system is good and really does find inflated odds to secure profit sooner or later this gap is going to get closed out and your profit will shrink and disappear, it is at this point that your system depends on you instead of the other way around. When this happens it is up to you to adapt or die. This is a system that has been working for you, now you need to refine it so it works for you again. So basically what I am saying here is that your knowledge is just as important as the profitability of a system. You should treat a system as an adviser, they are there to give you their opinion. You should use their selections, your own knowledge, recent news and any other piece of relevant information at your disposal to decide what to bet on.

Backing Over 2.5 Goals In Play System

Betting on the goal market is a very popular bet at the moment, mainly because there is no sides to pick, there are no teams to support. When the ball is near the goal it does not matter who has it if it goes in we come closer to winning our bet! The reason for this is that there are more 'luck' factors that can result in there being a goal than there is in there not being a goal, such as offside when onside, not over the line, own goals, major goalkeeping errors etc. I also like to bet on the Over 2.5 markets because it is much better if you are watching the game, it is much better to be hoping for an extra goal at 1-1 than it is to see that 3rd goal go in. Also when you are watching games you really do not want to be hoping for no goals! On the other hand if you have no intention of watching the game or can truly distance your betting behaviour from your entertainment fix from football then Under 2.5 goals is a nice bet to place. However this article is about backing the Over 2.5 goals market and how to win on the inplay markets. We are going with the In-play markets because we can get a much higher odds for our money if we bet in play. What we are going to do is look for matches were both teams have been involved in matches were 4 or more goals have been scored in at least 2 of their last 3 games. Now what we do is watch this game and if there is only 1 goal at half time we back the Over 2.5 goals. This is because if there is only 1 goal the odds will be higher than what they were at the start of the game. You can also using your own judgement back the Over 2.5 goals if there haven't been any goals. This will depend on your own judgement of how the game is going, you can also decide not to bet because you have been watching the game. If you see that even though there has been a goal the game is dead then you can go the opposite way, remember systems shouldn't be set in stone, they should bend to accomodate the actualities of the game and so this system should as well. When I say the system should bend I mean the user, as in you, should use your own judgement and analyse the variables involved to see what the true odds of Over 2.5 Goals happening and then work from there. Auto Bet System X Review - Final Thought

Right so I have read through all of the information provided and followed through a couple of days racing when using the strategy and 'the machine'. The first thing I would like to say about this system is that it really isn't the usual crap that is being pushed recently it is in fact a very educational read. The basic method guide itself is nearly 70 pages in length and it tells you the system and also gives some very good pointers in treating betting as a business more than just a hobby and using discipline when setting targets and your bankroll. The first problem I encountered was how long it would take to go through all of the races in the day to do all of the things that the system requires in order to make bets. However using the machine negates having to do this (however access to the machine comes at an extra cost) and provides you all of the information you need to use this system for all of the races in the day, the machine is actually quite a cool thing to look through. The system itself I found fairly disappointing. It involves betting purely based on historical data of the particular event and nothing to do with the particular horses that are racing. Also it is betting on the favorite and/or the 2nd favorite in a race which as we know makes the winning odds fairly short requring higher strike rates. Overall while I did find the system/guide itself educational and it did actually give me some food for thought when it comes to my personal betting strategies I found myself questioning the basic rules that the system is based on mainly backing the Favourite and/or the 2nd Favourite in a race just because they have won at least a certain % of this particular race in the past and also for some reason adding weight to the 3rd and 5th races of the day for no clear reason that was explained (at least in my opinion). The machine itself is cool and if I agreed with the system's rules I would say it was in everyone's interest to upgrade to unlimited access because without it the system would probably take too long and be too complex for the average punter. Also the price tag as I see it is too high for a product of this nature. I say this mainly because the system that I most highly recommend (Racing Secrets Exposed) is in my opinion just as detailed and contains a much better system with easier to follow rules and is significantly cheaper (just £7). He produces a .pdf file everyday that highlights all of the races and shares some real insights and is a great educational tool in and of itself. So in the end I would say if you treat your purchase of this system as an educational tool as opposed to a get rich quick scheme then you will be quite pleased with your purchase. However if you are looking for a system that tells you exactly what to back without any work on your part then this is not the system for you!

Right, So I have just purchased the Auto Bet System X and once I got through the initial upsell of a platinum package I was quite surprised with what I was given. I was given about 8 files to download and 2 videos to watch, certainly a lot more than most systems around these days. Arbitrage Spy Not A Scam Just Crap

So the other day I told you I would be buying the Arbitrage Spy system. So once I managed to guide my way through all the great number of upsells and further systems trying to be pushed on me I got my hands on the software. The first thing I noticed is that there are absolutely no instructions that come with the software whatsoever.  Now I am used to using complex betting software so after a while I managed to get the hang of it but I can easily see how inexperienced computer users or even intermediate computer users will have trouble using this properly. It really does amaze me that someone can go through all of the marketing efforts that they have gone through and not actually make an instruction manual! Once I managed to actually grasp how to use the system I found that it simply did not work. I would be searching for possible arbs and the system would highlight that one was available but I would check on betfair only to find the odds were such that an arb was not available. So either the system has a lag in it that fails to properly highlight arbs or it purposely highlights arbs to make the user believe the system works. Either way in the couple of hours I spent testing the software it highlighted a number of arbs, none of which were available when I checked betfair (I had a betfair window open simultaneously so there was no time delay). So my final opinion on this software is that I dont believe it is a scam like a number of other systems out at the moment I just believe it is crap! Simple as. Perhaps if the people who made this system read this review they will take on board what I have said and version 2 will be much better, however somehow I doubt this will happen. Bookie Annihilation Review - Weekend Update

Phwoar that was an intense weekend, thanks well and truly to the bookie annihilation system I was trialling. In short even though I restricted myself to not betting on every racecourse I still was betting, on average 1 horse per race, which is very draining even for the most passionate of race goers. Obviousl some will find this acceptable if the system shows as much profits as is claimed on the site...however it doesn't. I cannot atest to its long run profitability as I only ran this test for 1 weekend but I can safely say it is not the miracle system the sales page claims it to be. Over the weekend that I was running the system I placed a huge number of bets and came out -0.5 points down, which is effectively breaking even in my book so after all the energy I used I broke even, not exactly turning the 'Bookies into my own private cash machine' as the site says. However I must give the system creators their due, even though their approach to marketing and sales smells distinctly like a scam there is actually some merit to their system and I am sure it could make steady profits (note: Steady not Millionaire profits) under the right guidance and a more narrowing of the parameters however I do not know about you but I sure don't have time to do all that with a system that promised me untold riches. Anyway to cut a long story short I cannot recommend you buy this system and recommend you keep on looking if you are looking for a system to trial.

Free Football Tip - England v Hungary

So just a word on the new season's football challenge. I am thinking that we will start the bankroll off at 1000 points. This means that you can follow along with however much you want just you will need to learn your own points/pounds ratio. For example if you start with £100 every 10 points would be worth £1, meaning if a bet was 50 points on Team A you would bet £5, simple as that! In this post I am going to be going through some of the better markets to make profits from when talking about betting on football. Then I am going to highlight some markets that you should avoid if you are looking to make consistent returns from your betting; these markets are perfect for a cheeky bet at the weekend but should be avoided when making serious bets.

Best Football Bets

First I am going to go through some of the bets that our best for professional gamblers to make consistent profits with. These are the markets that I most often make bets on and are therefore the bets that my subscribers receive as part of our free tips service. Match Odds

Quite an obvious one this. This is simply the Win/Loss/Draw market where you back a particular team to win the match, or back the draw if you are inclined. When you know a lot about the teams that are involved in a match you can really get high % strike rates. A lot of people negate the Draw part of this bet by using Betfair to lay a particular team so that they still win in the case of a draw; the odds are worse but the higher strike rate should offset this.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals

This is one of my personal favourites. The beauty of this bet is that it does not require you to be cheering for a particular team. I prefer to go Over but I suspect that a lot of people have this preference so the odds are unnaturally shifted as a result. To win in this market you need to know both how effective the Strikeforce and Defence of each team is but also how past form can dictate total goals. For example if Arsenal have just smashed through a relegation zone team 5-0 and their next game is against another relegation zone team does the fact they scored 5 in the last game make them more or less likely to do the same? Some teams can regularly hit 4+ goals a game while other teams will see a goal drought after a huge victory. The same for losing sides; just because a team has been on the end of a hammering recently does not mean their next game will be the same, chances are they will tighten up and the next game will be low scoring. Food for thought.

Team -1.5 Goals

Not one of my personal favourites but a bet I do from time to time. The basic premise of this bet is that you are betting that a team will beat another team by a margin of 2 goals or more. The reason this bet is popular for professional gamblers is that a lot of the time the odds difference between a team winning a game and a team winning with a -1.5 handicap do not reflect reality, meaning the odds are higher than what they should be considering what the odds of them just winning the match are. . .

Worst Football Bets

So now I am going to go through a couple of the worst bets you can make on football. I consider these the worst as they are the hardest ways to consistently make money, this is not to say that you cannot make money on these niches it is just to say that they are pretty difficult in terms of long term money making.

First/Last Goalscorer

This is one of the most popular market for recreational punters ie. people who just have a fun bet at the weekend on their favourite teams. The major problem with this market is the huge luck factor that is involved with selecting the first goalscorer. With good knowledge of the teams and the players you can easily choose who is the most likely to score in any given game but then there is a big roulette spin about whether or not he will be the first (or last) goalscorer in the game, could easily be one of his team mates or an opposing player! The best bet to do when you are sure a player will score is to do his anytime odds and make sure that the odds reflect what you believe the odds to be.

Correct Score

Similar to the above the correct score market is simply too much of a lucky bet to be worth much if you are looking to consistently profit. Granted the odds you receive on bets like these are pretty good but you really need to be hitting a decent strike rate in order to profit. The reason it is hard to predict the correct score is quite obvious, as I said before it's quite easy to get a nice return when betting on match odds and the over/under 2.5 market but when you try to combine these markets and make them even more specific by saying the exact number of goals for each time it becomes more a game of luck than anything else. Conclusion So to conclude good markets that you should be looking out for are things you can keep track of yourself and where the outcome is majority based on past statistics and form rather than luck.

How to Lay Horses

In a previous post I discussed just exactly 'What Lay Betting Is', as a follow-up to that post I have decided to show just how easy it is to perform a lay bet. To illustrate this I have take a couple of screenshots just to show how quick you can maek a lay bet on betfair and hopefully this will make it clear to you that lay betting isn't complicated, it is just as simple to do as backing. Hopefully the screenshot below should look familiar to you: This is a standard race screenshot that you should be familiar with if you have done backing before. However we are here to lay so in this example we will be laying Prince Erik. This means that we do not want Prince Erik to win in this race. To lay Prince Erik we need to click the highlighted portion of the screen. Now all we need to do is input how much we would like to lay off Prince Erik for, in this example I have decided to lay him for £100. Laying him off meant that my total liability for this bet is £295, meaning if Prince Erik were to win the race I would be out £295 and if he lost I would win the £100 stake. Now all that I need to do to finalise my bet is click 'Place Bets' at the bottom of the screen and my bet is done.

What is a Horse Lay Bet?

When lay betting, or betting against a horse, you are effectively acting in the same way as a bookmaker. Lay betting, in the scheme of things, is a relatively new form of betting for the common punter. With the invention of the betting exchanges in 2000 normal punters are now able to act as the bookmakers do and lay off action. The betting exchanges make their profit by taking a small percentage of the winner's return, normally somewhere between 0.5% and 5% depending on how much you generally bet. Because of this the betting exchanges never lose because every bet will have a winner and they will take their cut from this winner so their only incentive is to get people to keep betting! In a horse race if you think a horse will not win the race you can choose to lay that horse instead. You may have heard a rumor that the horse is just there for a run out and will therefore not contend for victory. With this information in hand you can go on betfair and lay that horse. Now if the horse that you have chose to lay loses the race you will win the amount you have staked. However if the horse does in fact win then you will find yourself looking at the downside of lay betting, because when a horse that you have decided to lay in fact wins the race then you will lose whatever the stake is multiplied by the odds (exactly the opposite to how much you would have won if you backed the horse at the same odds!). Let's see an example; the horse you think will not win is running out at 2/1 or 3 in decimal odds. You decide to lay it off for £100. If the horse loses you will have won £100, however if the horse wins you will be out of pocket by £200. If this is still confusing to you just think about the guy who is backing the horse at 2/1 (the guy who's action you are taking). He will have backed the horse for £100, if the horse wins he will receive his stake back (the £100) plus a profit of £200 because of the odds. It has been a fantastic 12 months for the England cricket team and the spread bettors who got with them in all forms of the game. Spread punters who bought England's outright index with Sporting Index at 21 were partying long into the night when the skipper hit the winning runs against arch-rivals Australia thanks to a market make-up of 60. The Durham all-rounder hands the reigns back to returning leader Andrew Strauss for the visit of Bangladesh to Lord's and the first home Test of the summer. Patriotic spread punters have fared well against this opposition. In ten years and a total of 17 attempts the Tigers have never recorded victory over England in any form of the game. A fact which, allied to the visitors' rock-bottom ICC Test ranking, makes them big outsiders with the bookies. Spread buyers of the home team's win index will be relying on this record to continue, while any sellers of their win index with Sporting Index will do so knowing that they face an improving outfit. One concern such spread sellers might have, though, comes with the wrist injury sustained by leading batsman Tamim Iqbal. The big-hitter was one of few bright notes when the teams played at Mirpur and Chittagong in February and March of this year. However, the conditions in England will be quite different to the ones the Bangladeshis are used to on the subcontinent. Another naturalised Englishman who always attracts spread bettors' attention in the same market is Kevin Pietersen. The Barmy Army favourite was man of the tournament in the Caribbean - any buyers of his runs for this Test will not need reminding that he hit 248 in six games en route to collecting the individual honour, nor that this series represents the opportunity to nudge his Test average from 49.26 to north of 50.
